Based in Montevideo, Ghume and I embarked on a creative journey to give birth to “La Piedra Mamut” and “The Great Ride.” Released under RYNTH, these tracks encapsulate the essence of the genre. AIM AT THE SUN
Behind the Beats
Collaborating with Ghume on his latest EP, featuring the tracks “Aim At The Sun” and “Good Choice,” released by Suprematic Sounds, was a truly exciting endeavor. Despite the physical distance, we managed to compose, edit, mix, and master these tracks entirely remotely via Zoom. Here’s a closer look at how we brought this EP to life.
Our creative sessions began on Zoom, where Ghume and I meticulously planned out every detail of the EP. We delved into the world of software synthesizers, using tools like Arturia V Collection X and Hive to shape the soundscapes for both tracks. These virtual instruments were integral in creating the rich, textured layers that give “Aim At The Sun” and “Good Choice” their distinctive character.
When it came to the drums, we turned to a carefully curated selection of high-quality sample packs, focusing on Organic House sounds and textures. Each beat and percussive element was selected to enhance the grooves and provide a dynamic foundation that would carry the melodic elements effortlessly.
Ghume has a unique talent for creating emotive, engaging melodies, and we worked hard to ensure these elements were finely tuned and perfectly layered within the mix. The end result is a pair of tracks that are both captivating and full of depth, showcasing Ghume’s evolving sound.
This EP marks an exciting milestone in our collaboration, but it’s far from the end. Ghume is already immersed in several new projects. Expect more innovative and engaging music from hum as we keep exploring new sonic territories!
